F.A.R.M. (Free meat!)

Donate Meat for Low Income Families

If you have a livestock animal or plan to bid on a 4-H animal, you now have another alternative as to what to do with it. F.A.R.M. (Feeding Area Residents Meat) is one of our ministries. It uses livestock donations to provide quality meats to food pantries and shelters in our area. Your donation can be used to help feed many in need.

F.A.R.M. maintains a fund through private donations and grants that pays for the slaughter and processing of your livestock donation. There is no additional cost to you beyond the cost of your livestock purchase.

To donate your livestock purchase to F.A.R.M., please call 757-2707 and F.A.R.M. will take care of the rest. The animals will be picked up by a USDA approved facility that will butcher and wrap the meat.

If you wish to grow an animal to donate, or, if you have an animal that needs to be picked up immediately due to injury, please call 757-2707 and we'll make arrangements for the butcher to pick them up.

In Michigan, where this program has been running for several years, those who run the food pantries have been delighted. Many have never been able to offer such quality meat products or have it in such helpful amounts. Shelters and soup kitchens have been able to serve many wonderful meals with these quality donations. Church food pantries are also grateful for the meat they can use to help low income people in their congregations and neighborhoods.

You will of course receive a receipt for tax purposes.
