Love Story of the Month Each month we will have a story about how God is working in the community through volunteers and Love INC. Our hope is that you will be encouraged and blessed hearing these testimonies!

Burned out apartment -- picture 1 Joanne (not her real name) called us feeling totally overwhelmed. Her apartment had just burned and she needed to get out all her destroyed things and pile them in the driveway, and needed to get out what was salvageable and put it into storage. Today is Monday, January 21, and I just came from taking these pictures. We have 24 hours to help her get this done.

Joanne is disabled and can do very little herself other than assist us in making decisions as to what will be thrown away and what will be stored. Will we be able to find volunteers to get this done in time so that not all her things will be thrown away? There are some treasured pieces of furniture that she inherited from her grandmother.

I don't know if it will happen in time. We will pray about it and call volunteers to ask for their assistance. Check out our website in a week or two and see if it happened. Pray with us to make good connections. This has been devastating for Joanne. Help her see that the assistance she will receive is God's people sharing His love with her.

I praise God every day that there are faithful people who want to help and encourage people like Joanne.

UPDATE: We were able to find 3 wonderful volunteers who worked through this extremely difficult situation in the ash and water to take out the items our client really wanted saved. The manager was kind and waited a few extra days so that could happen. The client has since applied for and been accepted into an apartment that is in a type of group home so that she will have some extra assistance if needed. Thank you for praying for this. We are delighted to let you know the outcome. The only thing now is that the items still need some cleaning up and refinishing but we can worry about that later. If someone out there loves to do some minor furniture refinishing, let us know.
