Love Story of the Month Each month we will have a story about how God is working in the community through volunteers and Love INC. Our hope is that you will be encouraged and blessed hearing these testimonies!

Workers taking a well deserved break Homelessness seems such a big issue that we as individual Christians or even individual congregations feel that we can't even make a dent. However God can make a way for us to make a difference if we are willing to each do a small thing.

Those people taking a well deserved break in the picture are a group of energetic workers from HP who offered four hours each to help prepare a temporary men's cold weather shelter. This will be open from November 15 until some time in March of 2008. The work crew rehung doors, closed off rooms, cleaned junk, picked up and installed a washer and dryer and a lot more. A crew from MasterCraft Restoration volunteered their time and built a bathroom (they donated sinks, toilets and even a hot water tank!!), disassembled and brought the beds downstairs, and many other things. A third crew came on the Saturday to clean up a dumpster load of old carpet, broken wood and other trash.

The shelter is now ready to be opened. Two men who slept there last year are now off the street because people cared for them. Let's pray that more men respond to the love shared with them this year. If you would like to volunteer or bring snacks, call Aleita Hass-Holcomb at 740-3235.
