Love Story of the Month Each month we will have a story about how God is working in the community through volunteers and Love INC. Our hope is that you will be encouraged and blessed hearing these testimonies!

Elderly man We have two gentlemen who faithfully go to visit an elderly gentleman each week. Jack has been a client of Love INC for awhile and we keep moving forward on ways to best help him. He grew up on the borders of countries where and when Hitler was in power. He has many stories to tell. Jack is intelligent and articulate. He says he's read the Bible in Greek and Hebrew. However, there seems to be no personal experience.

As Jack ages, he has difficulties with simple things. We asked two men from a local church if they would be willing to go to Jack's home several times a week and open cans for him. He is not able to do this. He only will eat certain things and he will not go into any facility. Our two volunteers agreed to show him this kindness. The two men take turns and their hours add up each month to a total of about twenty-five. More than needing help opening cans of food, Jack is lonely. He has much time to think and reflect. Our volunteers do talk with him about God and Jesus Christ. We give thanks, because our Father continually gives people opportunities to become His child. We know He loves Jack, as He keeps Christians involved with this man.

Our faithful volunteers commented, "Things are going well with Jack. Sometimes he tries to give us a bad time, but we just smile and go on with our ministry." We understand that when Jack is being difficult or manipulative, he’s just doing what he can to keep people engaged with him.

Pray for our faithful volunteers, who give so many hours each month for this need. Pray they will have an anointing from the Lord that speaks deeply to Jack's spirit. Pray that God will grant them the delight of seeing the fruit of their labor.

P.S. That’s not really Jack in the picture!!
