We received some gift certificates for the Christmas store in an envelope with a sweet note. The note reads, "Thank you for giving me the chance to feel useful in doing something that is possible for me to do." This is from an older lady.

I find it amazing that she is thanking us for the opportunity for her to provide some gifts for people at the Christmas store. Bless her heart and thank you Lord.

Sometimes we focus so much on helping the individuals who call us that we forget that the blessing is even more for the person who is doing the helping. God told us that it is more blessed to give than to receive. And it really is true.

When we give, we feel good-we feel good because we know we are doing what God has called us to do. He has called us to be givers. Do you know that when God says in His word, "God loves a cheerful giver" the word cheerful actually means "hilarious". God loves a hilarious giver!! No wonder when we give, we receive more than we ever can give.

Not only are we being obedient, but we also have the satisfaction of helping someone who needs our help. Thank you to this woman who wrote us the note. Thank you for reminding us again that we have the privilege of helping The Church in Benton County to give.
