Bikes — ways to get to work, ways to get to school, ways to bring groceries home but a way to bring hope and healing to a family relationship?

We received a call from a man on the east coast. He was in a hospital and was probably dying. His son lived in Corvallis with his ex-wife and the thing he wanted most of all for Christmas was a bicycle. Dad wanted to get his son a bike, but didn't know how it would be possible considering the fact he had no money and was so far away and his ex-wife would barely speak to him.

Someone mentioned Love In the Name of Christ and our bicycle ministry. He called us on the off chance that maybe we could help. We could indeed. Our faithful bicycle repair men had a bicycle just the right size for this young boy. Not only that, our wonderful office volunteers took the time to listen to this man's heart and pray with him and someone else delivered the bike.

A young boy's wish has been fulfilled, a dying father was still able to find a way to make it happen and the boy realizes how much his dad still loves him, even though the family is no longer together.. What seems impossible to man is made possible through God bringing Christians together to reach out with love In the Name of Christ.
